NAPALI EXPERIENCE

You cannot hike the Kalalau Trail due to closure? Do not worry, there are plenty of other ways to see the beautiful coast line with steep mountain cliffs raising from the ocean and according to me, the world's most beautiful hidden beach on earth.

It was me and my friend Linn's last day and we wanted to do something extraordinary, I have hiked the Kalalau trail several times and wanted to do it by boat. I asked several companies if anyone had anything available and Napali Experience said they could take us on board if me and my friend was ok with being on different boats, it clearly was.

But what we did not think about was that when we were in different boats, we could not use the DSLR camera properly since I do not trust random people taking pictures of me, and they do not know how to snap a picture with manual settings. That means I only had a GoPro and my iPhone. I had so many plans for the day. Jumping off the boat right in front of the Kalalau beach (which is my favorite beach of all times) diving picture, lazy laying in the water picture and so on. PLEASE note that the captain let us do all those things, but the water was not that great, and the weather got very cloudy. The water was murky after the recent storm, therefore we were too far from the beach to take this epic shot I was dreaming of. NEXT TIME.

SOME INFORMATION ABOUT THE NAPALI EXPERIENCE

The Napali Experience was very professional (In a good way) they had us sign liability forms and told us clearly before we booked that we would go out no matter what the weather looked like. They have two boats that goes out every session, which are 3 per day. One in the early morning which is very good for dolphin watch and calm water, one in the mid-day which is good if you do not like to wake up early and will probably see dolphins or one in the afternoon for those who love photography and want's the perfect light and usually very calm ocean. We went with the mid-day session because that was the only available and we had to go, so we could see this beautiful place from a boat. We had a great time, I just wish I could be in the same boat as my friend, but next time for sure.

Their boats had a luxury feeling with white leather seats, the boat had speakers so we could listen to music and the captain had filled the coolers with fruits, drinks and other snacks. Our captain stopped at every beautiful cave, waterfalls, hidden beach, reef where we could snorkel (but the water was too murky) and stopped if he seen dolphins, turtles or whales.

If you ever go to Kauai and want to see the Kalalau coast from a boat, I highly recommend Napali Experience as your tour company, you will have so much fun and they will give you a lot of necessary information about the location, marine life and some history.
